Lou Bachrodt Chevrolet—Chevy Giant Mascot

It started as a newspaper advertising campaign and grew to giant proportions. You can now see the larger-than-life Chevy Giant on the dealership glass, on posters, and in the paper.

Opportunity ›

Create an original mascot for a large auto dealership in the Chicagoland area that would be used in newspaper ads and painted two-stories tall on the front of the dealership.

Challenge ›

Illustrations and cartoons can be tricky when using them to represent your company to the public. Potential clients might not be all that interested in coming in the front door if a twenty foot tall giant is staring them down.

Solution ›

Special care and attention was given to things like proportions, clothing, features, and expressions to make sure the illustration was instantly viewed as friendly and welcoming.

Nuts and bolts ›

Illustrator and Photoshop.

Scaleability

The illustration had to be completely done in Adobe Illustrator to keep the artwork in a format that would be crystal clear at two inches or two stories.
